Indian auto industry maintained a strong growth trajectory in February 2026, with most major manufacturers reporting healthy year-on-year gains across passenger vehicles, two-wheelers and commercial vehicles. Several companies posted double-digit growth, underscoring sustained consumer demand across segments.
Passenger Vehicle Makers Post Solid Gains
Kia
Kia India reported sales of 27,610 units in February, up 10.3 percent from 25,026 units in the same month last year. The company said it achieved its best-ever February performance since beginning operations in the country, marking its second consecutive month of double-digit growth.
Renault
Renault India clocked a sharp 31 percent rise in wholesales to 3,495 units, compared to 2,676 units a year ago. The carmaker also recorded 32 percent cumulative growth for JanuaryÂFebruary 2026, driven by continued demand for the Kiger and Triber.
JSW MG Motor India
JSW MG Motor India posted a 24 percent increase in February wholesales at 4,957 units. The company said both its internal combustion and electric vehicle portfolios contributed to growth. During the month, it opened bookings for its new premium SUV, the MG Majestor, at Rs 41,000.
Tata Motors
Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd registered a robust 35 percent jump in total sales to 63,331 units. Domestic sales grew 34 percent to 62,329 units, while international volumes rose significantly to 1,002 units. Electric vehicle sales across domestic and overseas markets surged 57 percent to 8,385 units.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor
Toyota Kirloskar Motor reported total sales of 34,034 units, marking a 20 percent increase over last year. Domestic sales rose 16 percent to 30,737 units, while exports saw a strong 65 percent growth to 3,297 units.
Honda Cars India Ltd
Honda Cars India Ltd, however, saw a 30 percent drop in overall sales at 7,212 units. Domestic sales remained almost flat at 5,629 units, but exports declined sharply to 1,583 units. The company said demand for the Amaze, City and Elevate remained steady in the local market.
Maruti Suzuki
Maruti Suzuki India Ltd reported domestic passenger vehicle sales of 1,61,000 units, marginally higher than last year. While compact car sales declined, utility vehicles recorded healthy growth. Including exports, total sales reached a record 2.14 lakh units for the month.
Mahindra & Mahindra
Mahindra & Mahindra recorded a 19 percent increase in domestic utility vehicle dispatches at 60,018 units, reflecting continued strong demand for its SUV lineup.
Hyundai Motor India
Hyundai Motor India Ltd posted a 10 percent rise in domestic sales at 52,407 units, sustaining momentum after a strong January performance.
 Two-Wheelers
TVS
In the two-wheeler segment, TVS Motor Company recorded overall sales of 5,29,308 units, up 31 percent year-on-year. Two-wheeler sales increased 30 percent, while three-wheeler volumes surged 77 percent.
Royal Enfield
Royal Enfield reported an 11 percent rise in total sales at 1,00,905 units. Domestic sales grew 13 percent, although exports dipped slightly by 2 percent.
Hero MotoCorp
Hero MotoCorp delivered 5.58 lakh units in February, a 44 percent jump over last year. Domestic sales led the growth, while exports also recorded a healthy increase.
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India reported total sales of 5,67,351 units, up 34 percent year-on-year. For the financial year-to-date period (April 2025 to February 2026), the company's cumulative sales crossed 58.2 lakh units.
Bajaj
Bajaj Auto recorded strong growth in February, posting a 27 percent increase in overall sales compared to the same month last year. In the two-wheeler segment specifically, domestic sales reached 1,86,164 units, compared to 1,46,138 units in February 2025, reflecting a 27 percent increase.
Overall, February 2026 reflected steady momentum across India's automotive sector, with SUVs, electric vehicles and two-wheelers continuing to drive volumes, even as select players faced pressure in export markets.
