2026 Kia Carens Clavis EV gets new variants

Kia Carens Clavis EV has received a 2026 update, bringing new seating options, added features, and fresh styling choices.

- New GT-Line and X-Line variants
- Now gets 6-seater layout across 8 trims

One of the biggest changes is the introduction of a 6-seat layout with second-row captain seats. Earlier, the electric MPV was only available as a 7-seater, even though its petrol/diesel version offered both layouts. Now, buyers can choose between 6- and 7-seat configurations across most variants, with no change in price.

Kia has also added new GT-Line and X-Line variants, but these are limited to models with the larger 51.4 kWh battery. These versions focus mainly on design upgrades. The GT-Line gets new alloy wheels, lime green brake calipers, and metal pedals for a sportier look. The X-Line, on the other hand, offers a more premium appearance with exclusive colour options like Dark Gun Metal and Aurora Black Pearl.

Both styling packages cost Rs 50,000 more than the variants they are based on. The GTX is derived from the HTX variant, while the GTX+ and X-Line are based on the HTX+ trim. In addition to visual changes, the higher-spec GTX+ and X-Line also include a digital key and a battery heating function.

For the Standard Range (42kWh) variants, Kia has introduced new 16-inch black aero-style alloy wheels.

Mechanically, nothing has changed. The Carens Clavis EV continues with two battery options: a 42 kWh pack and a 51.4 kWh pack, both paired with a front-mounted motor producing 255 Nm of torque. The smaller battery produces 135 PS and offers a claimed range of 404 km, while the larger battery delivers 171 PS and a claimed range of 490 km.

Charging times remain the same. Using an 11kW AC charger, the batteries take around 4 to 4.5 hours for a full charge. With a 100kW DC fast charger, both can charge from 0 to 80 percent in just 39 minutes.
