The 2026 Kawasaki Z650RS is powered by a 649cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that comes mated to six-speed sequential gearbox that also features an assist and slipper clutch. The engine pushes a healthy 68 PS at 8,000 rpm and 64 Nm of peak torque at 6,700 rpm.
The engine sits in a high-tensile steel diamond frame which is suspended by a 41 mm telescopic fork up front and a horizontal back-link swingarm at the rear, with a travel of 125 mm and 130 mm, respectively. Braking duties are done by 300 mm twin rotors up front and a 220 mm single disc at the rear. The bike has a wheelbase of 1,405 mm, a ground clearance of 125 mm, a fuel tank capacity of 12.0-litres, a saddle height of 820 mm and it tips the scales at 179 kg.
In terms of rider aids and tech, the bike comes with LED lighting, dual-dial digital dash, traction control, and smartphone connectivity. The bike takes its design inspiration from the 1970s Ninja 650, it gets classic wire-spoke wheels, wider shrouds, a fat-type handlebar, layered bodywork, and Z-family styling signatures. The tail section is rather compact and contributes to the bike's flat stance. It is shorter than the Z900 RS and adds to the retro sport image.
