The Sierra's framework will support multiple powertrain options, enabling petrol/diesel early and full electric follow-up. The car runs on 19-inch alloy wheels and has an upright stance upgraded from earlier 4-inch wheels, and is inspired by the original Sierra's rugged silhouette and modern SUV proportions.

Visually, the new Sierra carries a twin-tone roof, flush door handles, and connected LED lights. The interior of the car is equipped with three massive screens and a premium surface that brings a shift from its entry-level SUVs.

It is expected to carry a Mahindra XEV 9e-like 3-screen setup, comprising a digital instrument cluster with central and passenger-side touchscreens, with each unit measuring 12.3 inches. Other notable features are a dual-tone dashboard, a 4-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo, ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, a wireless phone charger and ventilated front seats.

In terms of the Safety and Assistance system, it is equipped with a 360° camera, six airbags and Level-2 ADAS.

The new Sierra retains its design elements such as curved rear windows, boxy wheel arches, and a tall bonnet. In terms of upgrades, it features a sharper roofline, shorter front and rear overhangs, and a more upright, slab-sided shape.

The official price is yet to be announced by Tata Motors, but it is expected to start at Rs 11 lakh(ex-showroom).

Tata Sierra is expected to rival the likes of Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, Maruti Victoris, Volkswagen Taigun and Honda Elevate.
