2024 Hyundai Sonata breaks cover

South Korean automaker Hyundai has unveiled the 2024 Sonta globally with a radically designed exterior and a striking interior. Notably, the public debut of the refreshed mid-size saloon is scheduled at Seoul Mobility Show in South Korea on 30 March.

2024 Hyundai Sonata: Exterior design
The 2024 Sonata bears the brand's new design language with a sporty and low-slung stance. It is reminiscent of the new generation Kona EV and the recently launched all-new Verna in India.

A front light strip running across its width, a hexagonal-shaped grille, sharp cuts and creases, a full-length H-shaped light bar at the rear, door mounted outside rearview mirrors, and unique alloy wheels dominate the overall exterior of the updated Sonata. Additionally, the N Line version features quad exhaust tips, a rear spoiler, and a set of 19-inch alloy wheels.

2024 Hyundai Sonata: Interior and Infotainment
The 2024 Sonata is the first Hyundai model to come equipped with a single-piece curved panel comprising a 12.3-inch driver display and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Hyundai has also given it touch-sensitive switches for HVAC and a column-type gear selector. Interestingly, it gets a new steering wheel with four dots - a morse code for letter H. This steering wheel resembles the Ioniq 6's unit.

2024 Hyundai Sonata: Powertrain
Hyundai has not revealed any specifications and powertrain details about the upcoming 2024 Sonata yet. We expected Hyundai to disclose these details at the Seoul Mobility Show at the end of this month. Meanwhile, a Sonata prototype was recently spied with a sticker that says a 2.5-litre GDI AT AWD (all-wheel drive), suggesting an all-wheel drive version may be on the cards.
