2022 Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder: Design

The front grille is modelled off the ToyotaGlanza, and it has a chrome strip running between the twin LED DRLs. The Toyota logo has a blue accent around it to indicate that it is a hybrid. The SUV has a massive air dam, a fake skid plate and LED projector headlamps on each side of its blacked-out top portion of the grille.

The 'Hybrid' symbol on the front doors and the 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels are the distinguishing features of the profile. The SUV has stylish wrap-around taillights with two inverted C-shaped LED components and an imitation skid plate at the back. A chrome strip with the blue-accented Toyota insignia in the middle connects the taillights.

The SUV will be available from Toyota in a total of 11 exterior colours, including four with dual tones.

2022 Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder: Engine and Hybrid system

A 1.5-litre K15C dual-jet petrol engine from Maruti Suzuki that comes in two tuning options powers the Hyryder. Low-end SUV models will be available with a mild-hybrid system that produces 103PS and 137 Nm of maximum torque. Both a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission will be available for the SUV's mild-hybrid models.

Higher-end Hyryder models will have the same engine but will also have a strong hybrid system that produces 115PS and 122 Nm. This particular powerplant will only be paired with an eCVT automatic transmission.

2022 Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder: Interior

The SUV's interior features a black and brown colour scheme with leather accents and silver dashboard accents. The interior decor for the mild-hybrid versions will be all-black, though. The AC vents are situated underneath the 9-inch touchscreen that was lifted from current Maruti models.

A 360-degree camera, wireless phone charging, linked technology (more than 55 capabilities), and a panoramic sunroof will all be included as standard equipment. Additionally, the Urban Cruiser Hyryder will have heated and ventilated front seats, cruise control, and ambient lighting. Up to six airbags, a tyre pressure monitoring system, all four disc brakes, and vehicle stability control are all part of its safety package (VSC).

Key rivals to the Toyota Hyryder include the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun and Skoda Kushaq.
