2016 Porsche Macan R4 launched in India at Rs 76.84 lakh
Porsche has added one more version to the existing Macan line-up which includes the S Diesel, Turbo and Turbo with Performance Package. The 2016 Porsche Macan R4 launched at Rs 76.84 lakh, ex-showroom Maharashtra happens to be the most accessible Macan as it now sits at the starting of the portfolio. With this new addition, Porsche takes on the the recently launched Jaguar F-Pace and also the Mercedes-Benz GLE 400.
The new Porsche Macan R4 is powered by a 1,984cc (2.0-litre) petrol motor that puts put 252PS at 5,000–6,800 rpm and generates 370Nm of torque at 1,600–4,500. Power is sent to all wheels with the help of a 7-speed dual clutch transmission. Porsche claims that the Macan R4 can reach a top whack of 229kmph and will do 0 to 100kmph in 6.7seconds. This makes it faster than the 2.0-litre Jaguar F-Pace that has a claimed maximum speed of 208kmph with a 0 to 100kmph acceleration timing of 8.7 seconds. We believe the difference in these figures is due to the fact that the Porsche Macan R4 weighs lighter than the Jaguar F-Pace by 15kg (gross). The Porsche Macan R4 carries the same design as the other variants and doesn't get any distinct elements. It measures 4,697 mm in length, 1,923 mm in width and 1,624 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2,807 mm. The standard list of features include tyre pressure monitoring system, electrically folding exterior mirrors, three-zone automatic climate control, 8-way electrically adjustable driver's seat, lane departure warning, cruise control, PCM infotainment system and automatic tail gate opening system. The Macan R4 will also be offered with a host of customization options like bi-Xenon headlights with LED DRLs, panoramic sunroof, matt aluminium finished roof rails, 21-inch wheels and Porsche's Connect Plus system with Android Auto and Car Play connectivity options.
Porsche's Mumbai dealership has already started accepting bookings for the Macan R4 for an amount of Rs 10 lakh. The deliveries of the 2016 Porsche R4 will begin soon.
