Volkswagen has stated quite a few times that it is serious about the Indian market and with brilliant growth numbers in 2010 there is no reason why it shouldn’t be. The German car manufacturer recorded a 230% growth for its month on month sales for January 2010 while the month of February saw a rise in sales by 168% as compared to February 2009. As a result, the waiting period for their cars stands at a month, two months and one and a half to two months for the Passat and the Jetta, the Beetle and the newly launched Polo respectively. The Touareg in the meanwhile has a lead time of about two to three weeks. Speaking on the occasion, Member of Board and Director of Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Mr. Neeraj Garg, said, “We are extremely delighted to witness such response from our customers. The New Polo which was officially launched by Volkswagen on February 23 2010, stood to receive an astounding response across the nation from customers on its first day of display on March 2, 2010.
