The first mini-truck in the world to be powered by a 2-cylinder CRDe engine with DOHC and 4 valves per cylinder, the Mahindra Maxximo, was launched today. Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. announced that the Maxximo, which is also the first product to come out of their state-of-the-art Chakan plant, will be on offer at Rs. 2.79 lakh (ex-Navi Mumbai). The Maxximo comes with a loading area of 3.2 sq. mt. while 25 HP, 55 Nm of torque and claimed fuel economy of 20 kmpl give for some impressive figures. The vehicle also incorporates a cable-operated gear shift granting smoother shift quality apart from booster-assisted brakes with a Load Sensing Proportioning Valve which is a first in the segment. Enjoying larger cabin space, bigger and more comfortable seats which includes a bench seat for the passenger, thereby enabling a person to lie flat, and a unique instrument cluster, the Maxximo aims at providing a more car-like environment to it’s customers.
