To commemorate its 30th birthday in 2008, Hyosung has unveiled this ‘anniversary’ edition of its best-selling GV650 cruiser, which combines laid back, contemporary cruiser styling with ample power and an attractive price tag.
Sporting a stunning black paint job and red accents on the tubular frame, wheels and other details, the bike follows a black theme all over. The engine remains Hyosung’s latest, the electronic fuel injected 650cc V-twin engine, now developing 80PS of power and 67Nm of torque. A five-speed gearbox and a quiet, durable belt drive take care of the transmission duties.
Hyosung has been agressive in its drive to establish itself in the budget road bike segment in Europe with bikes like GT650 already becoming popular. The Korean giant is now rumoured to be working on its most ambitious project till date. Hyosung wants to develop a litre-class bike to provide affordable superbikes for riders on a budget, giving the current crop of such bikes a run for ther money. The bike will be made available in the both faired and naked variants and, in all probabilities, will feature a V-twin engine displacing 1000cc.
