Pulsar 220 goes streetfighting
Bajaj launches the new Pulsar 220 DTS-i
Another day, another Pulsar. If you are obsessed with keeping a track of the Pulsar variants Bajaj Auto has launched in the past few years, here’s one more to add to your kitty. And like most of the Pulsars, this one’s a plain follower of permutations and combinations. The Pulsar 220’s fairing has been stripped off and the ‘new’ bike will sport the familiar Pulsar bikini fairing and tank shrouds from its younger siblings. The engine specs and output figures remain the same at 21.4PS of power and 19.2Nm of torque while the kerb weight is down by about 12kg to 148kg now. This should make the fastest Indian even faster. The bike will be called Pulsar 220 DTS-i and will sport a pricetag of Rs 69,425 (ex-showroom Delhi), which is about three grands cheaper than the fairied ‘F’ version. Bajaj Auto has also announced more power for its bestselling Pulsar 150. The bike has been given a bigger carb (UCD29) and now develops 15.06PS of power at 9000rpm. The inlet and exhaust system has also been modified, although similar looking. There have been no design changes but the bike now will come with clip-on handlebars. Price has gone up by Rs 500 to Rs 60,020, ex-showroom Delhi.

Dissapointing is the only word that comes to mind on seeing this ... There is almost no visual
difference when compared to the outgoing pulsar 200.
why in the world did they need to use the same fairing as on the 200. Why not something new which
could have given it a fresh look something that was more like naled bikes.. They should learn from
yamaha ho have launched the fz-16 which looks a lot like the bigger fazers ...
i have a 200 and would have liked to upgrade but this bike ... Sory doesnt excite me .... Why would
i spend money for exactly the same look

Hm......... I dont think there was a need for this...... P220 was already making some move with its
low price and high perfomance....... Anyway... Done is done and lets wait and see what happens in
the market......
