Grande Punto Sports. Launch date.

Any idea if the Grande Punto Sports displayed at the Xpo will be launched? If yes, When? And would it be worth the wait..??? :!:

The GP Sport is due in Q3.
However, it will be approx 1 lac more than the current emo pk.
The add ons :
1. 15 more horses
2. Sunroof
3. Bigger shoes
4. Stickers ? ?? Dont think so.Stickers are primarily HH & MUL territory.
5. Better plastics?
6. Leather seats.

Thanks for the reply. A lac more would mean nearly 8.5 lacs on road, here in Bangalore.! That's Jazz territory.....!!!! I was led to believe that Fiat would allow customers to choose the ad-ons (spoilers, alloys, sun roof etc) and upgrade their car. And that this would be available from the Emotion Variant upwards.......

Of course it will be in the Jazz territory.

A quick comparo:
Jazz : 90bhp petrol
GPS : 91bhp diesel (torque monster)

Jazz +s :
Honda brand value
Magic seats (revealed to be a bit uncomfortable on long drives)
Oodles of space
Better plastic quality

GPS -ves :
Some plastic qualities demand attention.(Supposed to have improved post Sep09).

Huge Turning radius

However, if I willing to pay 8.5 lacs for a hatch, I have a choice of i20 CRDI,Jazz and GPS. My vote would go for the VGT Diesel. ( I love diesels and Italians ..) :mrgreen:

Are we sure that the Punto Sports will be released this year? It sounds like what I am looking for (but expensive!)

Well, the homologation process is in place. And the car displayed in the Auto show was a RHD.
And going by the Fiat press release,we can expect it this year.

I personally dont think that it is expensive. For the same price, we get a similarly specced i20 crdi and Jazz. Since this would be a niche market placed above the regular punto, dont think there would be any issues.
